DID Management & Replacement

Modified on Mon, Jul 6 at 1:23 PM

Understanding how DID replacements affect your monthly allocation can help you avoid unexpected charges and maintain a healthy outbound calling reputation.

DID Replacements

  • DID swaps are not supported.
  • Replacing a DID during your current billing cycle results in the new DID being added to your account.
  • Any DIDs added during the billing cycle count toward your monthly DID allocation.

Monthly DID Allocation & Overage Charges

Each account includes a monthly DID allocation based on your subscription.

If the total number of DIDs added during your billing cycle exceeds your included allocation:

  • Applicable DID overage charges will be applied.
  • Overage billing is calculated according to your subscription agreement and pricing.

To avoid unnecessary charges, review your current DID inventory before provisioning additional numbers.

DID Management Best Practices

Proper DID management helps maintain your calling reputation and improves answer rates across major carriers. We recommend:

  • Retaining existing DIDs whenever possible instead of frequently replacing them.
  • Removing unused DIDs when they are no longer required.
  • Monitoring your DID inventory throughout the billing cycle.
  • Registering your DIDs with major carrier reputation and analytics services.

Carrier Registration Resources

Registering your DIDs with carrier-approved services helps improve caller identity and reduce the likelihood of calls being labeled as spam.
